How to Feel Better

Science-Backed Strategies for Mental Wellbeing

Ā

An online session with Dr David R Hamilton

Ā

Many of us know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, low, disconnected, or simply not quite ourselves.

And while there’s no single magic solution, research has shown that there are simple, practical things we can do to support our mental wellbeing.

In this online session, I share someĀ of the science-backed strategies that have helped me personally, along with many others I've encountered through my research, writing, and speaking over the years.

This is not therapy, and it’s not a substitute for professional mental health support. It’s a warm, practical, evidence-based session designed to give you tools you can begin using in everyday life.

In this 90-minute session, you'll learn:

  • Why speaking to someone can be one of the most powerful first steps when we're struggling
  • Why naming emotions can reduce the intensity of negative emotions and boost positive ones
  • How curiosity can help calm the brain's threat system when life feels uncertain
  • How spending time inĀ nature canĀ help you feel calmer, clearer, and more mentally refreshed
  • A simple breathing technique that can help calm the nervous system in just a few monites
  • How kindness supports happiness, connection, and emotional resilience
  • HowĀ meaning and purpose can tilt the brain and body towards greater wellbeing

Plus learn practical exercises to help support your mental wellbeing in both the short-term and long-term.

Who is this for?

This session is for anyone who would like practical, science-backed ways to support their mental wellbeing.

It may be especially helpful if you’ve been feeling stressed, stretched, anxious, emotionally tired, disconnected, or simply in need of some gentle, useful tools.

You don’t need any previous knowledge of science, psychology, or meditation.

Just bring yourself, a notebook if you like, and a willingness to explore what might help.
